Clean teeth not only make you look and feel good, they also ensure fresh breath, help you feel confident, give you a brighter smile and are a vital part of maintaining healthy oral hygiene.

Not brushing properly can lead to a whole host of problems including unhealthy bacteria, a build-up of plaque and even gum disease.

Dental airflow and tooth polishing are both used to bring about significant cosmetic improvements to the teeth.

Airflow tooth polishing is an innovative method of teeth cleaning that can successfully tackle persistent staining of your teeth caused by tea, coffee, red wine and smoking, leaving the mouth feeling cleaner and fresher than ever before.

It is generally used when other methods of cleaning are not effective, airflow is a reliable way of cleaning surface stains from teeth.

Airflow combines air, sodium bicarbonate and a jet of water. It is gentle and produces excellent results, leaving your teeth looking natural, whiter and brighter.

Meanwhile, polishing is used to smooth the tooth surface thereby lowering the amount of plaque that collects on the tooth surface area.

Here are just some of the additional benefits of airflow and polishing:

  • Quick, simple tooth whitening
  • Effective stain removal
  • Make mouth feel nice and fresh
  • Remove bacteria, plaque and tartar from the mouth.

What Does The Air Flow Procedure Involve?

The treatment generally lasts around 30 minutes, during which time the teeth will be cleaned with the air/water/bicarbonate jet. Anaesthetic is not required as the cleaning is painless.

How Long Will It Last?

This depends entirely on you, your diet/smoking/cleaning habits. If you are a big fan of tea, coffee, red wine and curries, you can expect the staining to return over a few months.

If you rarely have these and thoroughly brush your teeth at home, teeth can remain stain-free for up to a year.

Most patients who choose Airflow will have the procedure around once a year, and also just before any special occasions.
