Children’s Clinic

Children’s dental healthcare is a hugely important part of growing up and is a major factor for deciding exactly what an individual’s oral health will be like as they grow older. Telling children about the importance of dental health and ensuring they have high quality dental care is something many parents put a great deal of effort into, which is why at Farsley dental we offer a full children’s clinic with which parents and children can gain the following benefits:

  • Ensure your children have optimal dental healthcare
  • Teaching children themselves about the important of oral health
  • Making dental health fun and exciting for children
  • Giving parents piece of mind that their children’s dental health is in good hands

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Q: At what age should my child have their first dental visit?

It is generally recommended that a baby has their first visit to the dentist before their first birthday, preferably at some point between the 6 month and 12 month points. You should ensure that you at least visit a dentist with your child as soon as the first tooth appears.

  • Q: Why should my child visit a children’s dental clinic rather than a normal dentist?

Your child’s care should be provided by somebody who is an expert in paediatric dentistry as children have a completely different set of needs when it comes to healthcare. A paediatric dentist will have had extra training specific to caring for children so it is highly recommended that you see a paediatric dentist.

  • Q: How should I clean my baby’s teeth?

For infants, brushing once a day at bed time with a toothbrush with soft bristles and a small head is the best choice. This will remove plaque which, if left, can lead to decay.
