Farsley’s Children’s Day

We hold our children day’s twice a year, during children’s school holidays. The aim is to help young children enjoy coming to the dentist, the staff wear bright coloured clothes to make the environment more relaxed and child friendly.

We have arts and crafts, colouring competitions 1st prize cinema tickets, raffle tickets are on sale for the chance to win a sonicare children’s electric toothbrush. We also have the PDU available on these days to apply fluoride and educate children on tooth brushing and diet. All proceeds are donated to a children’s charity- “Wooden Spoon”.

Wooden Spoon exists to improve the quality and prospect of life for children and young people who are disadvantaged physically, mentally or socially, In the UK one in every hundred suffers from a lifelong disability that will profoundly affect his or her ability to lead a full and happy life. More than 3.5 million young people grow up in low income households or live in an environment where they are subjected top poverty of aspiration.

Jon and his wife are training to undergo one of the most taxing challenges, cycling the length of the UK Jon ‘o’ Groats to Lands ends, 850 miles in just 8 days!! Yesterday we raised a whopping £155.00 for the charity, Thank you to all our patients for their generous donations.

The feedback off parents was amazing, comments like:

  • "Great idea so we don’t have to stress about bringing our children out of school"
  • "We have never been to the Dentist before and had such good fun"
  • "How fantastic is this"
  • "Lovely idea"
  • "Wow this looks really good".

3 of our children climbed into the dental chair for the first time as they were apprehensive on previous visits - “I can’t believe he’s got in the chair, let alone let you do Fluoride treatment, I’m so pleased”
